The purpose of National Kid's Goal Setting Week is to provide
you with some useful ideas and practical suggestions that will help
you harness the uniqueness of your children and to equip them to
lead a goal directed life full of purpose, meaning, and fulfillment.
For some time now, I have wanted to create this educational event to teach
the youth of the world what I consider to be one of the most important
of life skills, goal setting.
The success of this event and the
activities both you and your children will participate in, is largely
dependent upon you, the parent and teacher.
Children learn primarily through example -- that you can count
on! Your kid's are watching you, observing your every move. They
are learning more from you than all of their peers, so you better
be good for goodness sake and consider what messages you are sending
them with regards to goal directed activity.
While this comes as no surprise and could be considered common
sense, unfortunately it's not always common practice. For
Kid's Goal Setting Week to be effective, you must be effective.
Parenting and teaching takes not only sacrifice and energy, but
also consistency. Good parents and teachers don't just happen by
accident. People plan to be good parents and teachers and good parents
and teachers plan. Good planning requires consistency.
The primary goal of the parent and teacher should be to build
into the child's life the concepts, philosophy, and spiritual principles
that will enable them to make decisions about their future.
I invite you to send me your questions as well as to share your
success stories. Have a great time during National Kid's Goal Setting
Week and be sure to make everything count because it does.
Everything Counts!
